Frequently asked questions

Short answer

Common questions about buying, installing and using BuzzRelay, and about WhatsApp sending limits and bans. BuzzRelay is a one-time purchase, runs on Windows only, keeps all your data on your own computer, and cannot guarantee a number will never be restricted — no tool can.

Buying and licensing

Is BuzzRelay a subscription?

No. It is a one-time purchase with no monthly fee and no per-message charge.

How many computers can I use it on?

One at a time. The licence binds to a device identifier derived from your hardware. To move it, email support for a reset — see Activate your license.

Do I get updates?

Yes. BuzzRelay tells you when an update is available, and installing over an existing version keeps your data.

Where do I find my purchase code?

On codecanyon.net under My Downloads → Download → License Certificate & Purchase Code. It is the long UUID inside that file, not the item ID or invoice number.

Installing and running

What are the system requirements?

Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), 4 GB RAM minimum, 2 GB free disk, an internet connection, and a phone with WhatsApp — see System requirements.

Does it work on Mac or Linux?

No. Windows only.

Can I run it on a VPS?

Yes, and it is a common setup so campaigns run without leaving a desktop on. BuzzRelay ships with its own browser, so a bare Windows server image is fine.

Why does it download something on first launch?

It downloads the Chromium browser it uses to drive WhatsApp Web, around 200 MB. One time only.

Does my computer need to stay on?

Yes, for the whole campaign. There is no cloud component, so a scheduled campaign will not fire if the machine is off or asleep.

Sending

How many messages can I send per day?

BuzzRelay defaults to 200 per device per day. WhatsApp itself publishes no fixed limit for ordinary accounts — what actually matters is consent, send rate and account age. See WhatsApp message limits explained.

Can I use several WhatsApp numbers?

Yes. Each is a separate device with its own daily limit. Note that a campaign sends from one device, so spreading volume means one campaign per device — see Run multiple devices and spread volume.

How long does a campaign take?

At the default 5–15 second delay, roughly 35 minutes for 200 recipients. Wider delays take proportionally longer.

Can I personalise messages?

Yes, using double-brace variables such as {{name}}, {{city}} and any custom field from your import, plus spin text like {Hi|Hello} for wording variation. Note the brace counts differ — see Personalise messages with variables.

Do recipients need to have saved my number?

No. BuzzRelay sends individual one-to-one messages, so WhatsApp's broadcast-list restriction does not apply — see Broadcast lists vs a bulk sender.

Bans and safety

Will my number get banned?

It can. Automation breaches WhatsApp's terms, and enforcement is driven mainly by recipients blocking and reporting you. BuzzRelay's controls reduce the mechanical signals but cannot stop a report. Sending only to people who opted in is what actually protects the number.

Can you guarantee no ban?

No, and nobody honestly can.

What if my number is banned?

Appeals go to WhatsApp, not to us. Your contacts and campaign history are unaffected because they live on your PC — see My WhatsApp number was restricted or banned.

Is bulk WhatsApp messaging legal?

In most countries it is lawful when the recipient consented, you identify yourself and you honour opt-outs. Messaging people who never consented is where legal exposure begins — see Is bulk WhatsApp messaging legal?

Data and privacy

Where is my data stored?

In a local database at %APPDATA%\BuzzRelay\ on your own computer. Nothing is stored on our servers — see Where BuzzRelay stores your data.

Can you see my contacts or messages?

No. We never receive them.

Is there a cloud backup?

No. Back up %APPDATA%\BuzzRelay\ yourself. If the disk fails and you have no copy, the data is gone.

Features

Does it include contacts or leads?

No. It sends to lists you already have.

Can it extract members from a WhatsApp group?

Partly. WhatsApp now hides most participants' numbers, so only members your account can already resolve come back — see How to export contacts from a WhatsApp group.

Does it use the WhatsApp Business API?

No — see the comparison.

Is AI included?

The feature is included; the AI usage is not. You supply your own API key and are billed by that provider.

Does it handle opt-outs automatically?

No. Replies arrive in your normal WhatsApp and in Live Chat, but you remove people from your list yourself.

Frequently asked questions

Is BuzzRelay a subscription or a one-time purchase?

A one-time purchase. There is no monthly fee and no per-message charge, and updates are included.

Will my WhatsApp number get banned using BuzzRelay?

It can. Automation breaches WhatsApp's terms and enforcement is driven mainly by recipients blocking and reporting you. BuzzRelay's delays, limits and warmer reduce the mechanical signals, but sending only to people who opted in is what actually protects the number. No tool can guarantee against a ban.

How many WhatsApp messages a day can BuzzRelay send?

It defaults to 200 per device per day, and you can connect several devices. WhatsApp publishes no fixed limit for ordinary accounts — consent, send rate and account age matter far more than volume alone.

Where does BuzzRelay store my contacts?

In a local database at %APPDATA%\BuzzRelay\ on your own computer. Nothing is stored on our servers and we never receive your contacts or message content. There is no cloud backup, so back that folder up yourself.

Do recipients need to have saved my number first?

No. BuzzRelay sends individual one-to-one messages, so WhatsApp's broadcast-list rule about saved contacts does not apply. That rule only affects the built-in broadcast list feature.

Can BuzzRelay run on a Windows VPS?

Yes, and it is a common setup so campaigns keep running without leaving a desktop machine on. BuzzRelay ships with its own Chromium browser, so it does not need one installed on the server.
