Run multiple devices and spread volume
Each campaign in BuzzRelay sends from one device, so spreading volume is something you set up rather than something that happens automatically: split the recipients into several contact groups, create one campaign per group, and assign each campaign to a different device. The daily limit applies per device, so three devices at the 200 default give you 600 messages a day — and each number stays inside a normal-looking range.
Why spread at all
One number sending 600 messages a day looks like a broadcaster. Three numbers sending 200 each look like three busy businesses. Since WhatsApp's enforcement is per account, dividing the same total across more numbers lowers the risk on every one of them — and if one does get restricted, the other two keep working.
This is set up manually. A campaign in BuzzRelay is assigned to a single device — there is no automatic round-robin across your connected numbers. Spreading volume means creating several campaigns, which takes a few minutes and is worth doing properly once.
Step 1 — Connect the devices
Add each number in the Devices page and scan its QR code. Each device gets its own isolated browser session, so the accounts never share cookies or state.
Every device needs its own phone with WhatsApp installed and online. A device whose phone goes offline stops sending.
Step 2 — Warm up anything new
A brand-new number added purely to increase volume is the most likely of the set to be restricted. Leave the Number Warmer on so each new device ramps from a low daily count — see How to warm up a new WhatsApp number.
Warm new numbers in parallel, ideally before you need the capacity. A number warmed over the previous fortnight is far more useful than one added the morning of a launch.
Step 3 — Split the recipients into groups
In Contacts, divide the list into as many groups as you have devices — "Launch A", "Launch B", "Launch C". How you split matters less than that the split is clean, with no contact in two groups, or someone receives the message twice from two different numbers.
Split by region if your list spans time zones. Then each campaign's quiet hours can match where its recipients actually are, instead of compromising on one window for everyone.
Step 4 — One campaign per device
Create a campaign for each group. In the campaign's first step, choose the Device for that campaign, and in the recipients step select the matching contact group.
| Campaign | Contact group | Device |
|---|---|---|
| Launch A | Launch A | Number 1 |
| Launch B | Launch B | Number 2 |
| Launch C | Launch C | Number 3 |
Reuse the same template across all three so the message is consistent. Because campaigns snapshot their messages when they are created, editing the template afterwards will not change campaigns you have already set up.
Step 5 — Stagger the starts
Three campaigns beginning at exactly the same second, from three numbers, on one internet connection, is its own pattern. Schedule them 20 to 30 minutes apart, or start them by hand at intervals.
How the daily limits add up
The daily message limit is per device. At the 200 default:
| Devices | Daily capacity | Comfortable weekly volume |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 200 | ~1,000 over 5 days |
| 2 | 400 | ~2,000 |
| 3 | 600 | ~3,000 |
| 5 | 1,000 | ~5,000 |
Raising the per-device limit instead of adding devices is the wrong trade — the setting only controls when BuzzRelay stops, not what WhatsApp tolerates. See WhatsApp message limits explained.
Practical notes
- Each device is a real browser session, so several running at once uses real memory. On a modest PC, run two or three campaigns concurrently rather than six.
- Keep the phones online. WhatsApp Web depends on the paired phone.
- Use consistent sender identity. If all three numbers represent the same business, say so in every message, or replies to number 2 will not make sense to you or to them.
- Watch each device separately in Analytics. One number failing while the others are fine usually means that number is being throttled — see My WhatsApp number was restricted or banned.
- Do not reuse one list across numbers to send the same message twice. That is the fastest route to reports.
Frequently asked questions
Does BuzzRelay split a campaign across multiple devices automatically?
No. Each campaign is assigned to a single device. To spread volume you split the recipients into separate contact groups, create one campaign per group, and assign each campaign to a different device.
How many messages can I send with multiple devices?
The daily limit applies per device, so at the 200 default two devices allow 400 a day and three allow 600. Adding devices is the right way to increase volume; raising the per-device limit only removes your own safety net.
Do I need a separate phone for each device?
Yes. Each connected device is a separate WhatsApp account, which needs its own number and its own phone with WhatsApp installed and online, since WhatsApp Web depends on the paired phone.
Should I start all my campaigns at the same time?
No. Stagger them by 20 to 30 minutes. Several numbers beginning to send at the same second from one internet connection is itself an unusual pattern.
